Panasas Positioned as a Visionary in Leading Industry Firm's Magic Quadrant for Midrange and High-End NAS Solutions

FREMONT, Calif. – March 25, 2010 – Panasas®, Inc., the leading provider of high-performance scale-out NAS storage solutions, today announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the Visionaries quadrant of the 2010 Magic Quadrant for Midrange and High-End NAS report.1

The report, authored by Pushan Rinnen, Robert Passmore and Roger Cox at Gartner, evaluated 12 vendors that met the market definition and passed the inclusion/exclusion criteria for midrange and high-end NAS solutions. Panasas had to meet all the following criteria for its inclusion in the report:
- Support a scale-up or scale-out architecture
- Offer NFS and/or CIFS as standard client data and/or metadata access protocols
- Provide primary file system storage, instead of storage that narrowly targets backup or archive data
- Have an average selling price of $25,000 or more
- Generate annual revenue of $5 million or more
- Have global presence in two or more large geographic markets
- Market recognition, market share and revenue data
- Client interest, as measured by the level of client inquiry received on a vendor's products, and other client feedback
- Use of unique, unusual or interesting technology
